Access to Government Devices
Recent guidance allows employees to log into their government devices for essential personal tasks, including:
- Viewing personal employee records
- Completing background investigations
- Checking furlough/RIF status or submitting related information
- Updating contact details
- Making Federal Employee Health Benefit changes
- Submitting retirement applications
Supervisor Action & Reporting Requirement Supervisors: Please ensure your teams are aware of these permissions and encourage them to log in and read this email. This is also a great opportunity to check in on your teammates and support their well-being.
After contacting employees, supervisors must report completion up their chain of command. The suspense for 100% completion is COB Monday; Please reference ETMS2 tasker T2COM-251023-TJR2. Leaders are required to report completion by COB 27OCT25.

Unemployment Compensation Guidance
Furloughed employees may apply for unemployment benefits through the unemployment office in the state of their last duty station. Excepted employees working full-time are generally not eligible. If retroactive pay is issued, any unemployment benefits received must be repaid per state law.
