The Fort Leavenworth Stables is an FMWR-run private boarding facility with two large historic barns conveniently located on Warehouse Road. Construction of the barns began in 1905 to accommodate the US Army Corps of Engineers mules and horses. The Stables is a self care facility which includes stalls, paddocks, 2 outdoor arenas, 1 indoor riding arena, 5 pastures, a cross country course and miles of beautifully wooded trails.

  • Those wanting to board their horse at the stables are urged to call ahead to reserve a stall as there is typically a waiting list.
  • There is a 5-day quarantine period with quarantine stalls and paddocks available for incoming horses.
  • Please contact the stables office for pricing. Patrons provide their own grain.
  • Rental horses and lessons are not available at this time.

All horses are privately owned. Visitors must check in with the stables staff prior to walking through the barns.
